On Monday, November 25th, Mrs. Foster’s class had their Market Day. The second grade class had been learning about needs/wants, goods/services, and supply/demand in Social Studies. This was a great way for the students to not only use their Social Studies knowledge but math skills and social skills. They also discussed how all of our money is actually God’s money he gives to us and we should used money in a way that would honor God. Mrs. Foster’s class raised $350 in total from Market Day. They were able to bless 4 families through Compassion International by donating 2 heath bundles, 1 income generation bundle, and 1 water well. The health bundles help provide the tools for children to have a good foundation for lifelong health that consist of food for a malnourished child, protection from parasites, a mosquito net, and some money where most needed. The income generation bundle equips the family with tools to help escape poverty and consists of goats, chickens, vegetable seeds, and money where most needed. The water well gives families access to a safe water source.
Well done, Second grade!
